Virtualization
By Paul Weller

The other night I was invited to a dinner party where everyone there worked in IT. The word of the night was Virtualization. Since I didn`t have any idea as to what vitualization meant I needed to come home and read up on it since this seems to be very important in the IT world. Virtualization is rapidly changing the IT landscape and changing the way people use computer technology. Virtualization allows you to run multiple virtual computers on one single computer sharing the resources of one machine across multiple environments. This allows for different systems and multple applications to run on the same computer. Something I found out that very interesting was you can allow your Mac to run Windows creating a virtual PC environment for all Windows applications. What a solution for people who work together on two different systems. Another added `green` benefit is that you are utilising much less electricity and using less materials thereby creating less waste as one computer can now operate as six computers. I think Virtualization will be the way of the future as our society needs to create smart solutions which in the end will use less material and waste and still operating efficiently.

Although this summer has been a bit of a disappointment with regards to the weather Iā??m still hoping to get some use out of the garden during autumn and dare I say winter months? The plan is to buy a patio heater so that we can spend some time outdoors when it is dry. It might go dark a bit earlier during the autumn but we have plenty of lighting in our garden and if we had one of the patio heaters burning away it could be really cosy outdoors. Itā??s been frustrating this summer because we havenā??t been able to use the garden half as much as we would have liked to, so I think we should invest in one of the patio heaters. When thereā??s a nip in the air you donā??t tend to notice once the heaters are alight. Last year we never got around to buying one of the patio heaters which was a shame because I think we could have used it plenty of times before the worst of the winter weather finally set in. Looking at the various designs of heaters that are available I quite fancy one that comes with a wooden body as well as a hinged door, as this allows easy access to the gas bottle. This style would fit in well with our gardenā??s theme and when it wasnā??t being used it could be protected with a durable weather cover.
